How do I find my Vehicles Paint Color Code?
I've been asked about the mystery of the Vehicle Paint code. Two problems most people have are:
1. Finding the vehicle plate
2. Finding the actual paint code or color code on the plate once it's located.
I don't know why vehicle manufacturers seem to enjoy hiding this information from us the consumer and owner but it almost seems like they go out of their way to do so. So let’s list off some of the common places they tend to hide the vehicle VIN plate or label.
Thankfully there really are only around 5 or 6 places they tend to place these plates.
1. Inside the hood - either on the fire wall, fender apron, or radiator support.
2. inside the driver door. It will be located on the door edge below the lock mechanism or on the inner door pillar.
3. Inside the trunk (rare) on the inside of the trunk it's self or on the edge near the latch.
4. Inside the vehicle - either in the center console (rare) or the glove box (less rare)
Once you locate your VIN plate, it will look something like this. It can either be stamped metal or just a sticker.
The color code will generally be labeled with abbreviations or actually say "color code". Once you've located the color code you're done. :)

GM Recalls Over 98,000 Trucks
DETROIT (Reuters) - General Motors Corp. (NYSE:GM - news) is recalling more than 98,000 pickups, vans and sport utility vehicles because of a potential problem with their power steering and braking systems, federal safety regulators said on Tuesday.
An advisory on the Web site of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (news - web sites) said the problem -- which can hamper but not eliminate the ability to stop or steer the vehicles -- stems from fractures in their hydraulic pump driveshafts.
Vehicles affected by the recall are from the 2000 model year and include Chevrolet C/K and Silverado pickups and Suburban SUVs. GMC Savana vans are also affected, along with GMC Sierra pickups and Yukon XL SUVs.
